Photo: Perranporth Beach
by Lee on Feb.17, 2009, under Photos
The photo for this week was taken almost 4 years ago. It was in fact taken on my first summer holiday with my friends after we left high school. We stopped at the youth hostel, in Perranporth, Cornwall. The youth hostel itself was up on the cliffs above the beach, about 5/10 minutes walk from the main part of Perranporth.
The photo shows the view from outside the youth hostel:
This is one of my favourite few photos (both because of how it looks and the memories it brings back), to the point that I have it hung in a frame in my room at home. The only thing, I dislike about it is that I didn’t have a hugely high quality camera, which does let the photo down a little.
I quite like how empty the beach looks though and how it seems to go on forever (I walked along it one day and it does go on for a while!). I’m also a fan of the different shades of blue int he sea and sky.
The main area of the beach shown in the photo is completely gone when the sea comes all the way in. It’s one of the largest areas that appears/disappears on a beach that I have seen.

Dear Lee,
I saw your photo of Coverack on your web site, the one looking across the harbour, could I have your permission to use it on our web site.
More than happy to make a donation.
