Random: How Nokia Test Mobile Phones
by Lee on Apr.12, 2009, under Random
A mobile phone has to go through a lot of wear and tear in its lifetime. I’m sure many of us have broken a screen or two in our time though.
The BBC wrote an article earlier this week about the testing process Nokia goes through which included this video.
It surprised me that they used some manual labour to carry out some of these tests
Another repetitive test is manually plugging in and removing the charger for each handset at least 6,000 times.
A group of people are employed do this because, unlike machines, humans do it differently every time.
With all the other tests, it’s obvious these phones go through quite a rigoruous process before being launched. I wonder if Apple puts its iPhone through a similar standard of testing?

wow, I am impressed. I truly hope all cell phone companies perform the same tests on there phones. For what we the consumers pay for these phones we should get a sturdy product that can with stand anything.
